Ms. Tammy Sweatland
Hello and thank you for visiting the Remington Elementary Website. I am very proud to be part of this amazing group of educators. We are all fortunate to work in such a great school and be able to work with great students and families in the Remington District.
To tell you a little about myself, I am originally from Olathe, KS where I grew up on a dairy farm. Growing up, I was involved in 4 - H and loved living on a farm. (So, moving to this small town wasn't a totally new mindset!) I attended and graduated from the De Soto School District and went on to Kansas State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. My first teaching job was in Kansas City, Kansas School District, where I taught grades 2 - 4. After three years, I went to teach in the Spring Hill District, where I taught 4th grade for 7 years. During this time, I earned my Master Degree in School Leadership/Administration from Baker University. A family move then put us in Abilene, KS. I taught 5th grade for 7 years. After this, I felt I was ready to step out into the administrative field and I was very fortunate to be offered a position at Remington Elementary in 2014.
My two children also attend the Remington District. Elisabeth is a freshman at RHS and Erik is in 5th grade at RMS. We keep very busy with baseball, softball, cheerleading, basketball, and many other activities that are offered through both the community and USD 206. Since moving here, we have found the community to be welcoming and supportive. I think it is a great place to live and attend school!
